CLASSES OFFERED

Our elementary science classes are offered on a two-year rotating basis. One year uses Bob Jones' 3rd and 5th grade texts, then the following year uses 4th and 6th. Ultimately, four different classes will be offered over a two-year period, allowing for a solid science foundation throughout the elementary years. The goal is to provide students with a consistent, academically-challenging course in science that will prepare them to enter the Apologia series. Don't think it will be dry and boring, though! Mrs. Cole specializes in making science interesting and fun, and always provides plenty of fascinating experiments!

Our junior and senior high courses utilize the award-winning Apologia texts by Dr. Jay L. Wile.

The grade levels are given as guides only. If you have a second-grade student who is reading well (such as chapter books), then by all means feel free to place them in Science A. That will mean as they progress they will be able to enter Apologia General Science a year ahead!

All science courses are offered in conjuction with One Day Academy. Therefore, all science students will need to register through One Day Academy as well as with Grace Notes.

**All science courses are offered from a Christian, young-earth perspective. We will be discussing evolution and creationism and comparing the two. When appropriate to the subject matter, we will offer "evolution-busters" which will show that creationism is not just a faith-based belief, but that it is also rational and supported by science. Please feel free to call me if you have questions about how evolution and/or creationism will be handled in class.
